Listed by Lou Bertino Mobile: 410-829-2391 Info: Born & raised in New York State's Finger Lakes region, Lou holds an A.S. degree in Engineering Sciences from S.U.N.Y. at Delhi, and is a 1975 graduate of Cornell University's Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. There, he attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in nuclear science. He worked in the nuclear industry for six years until the Three Mile Island incident diminished demand for nuclear reactor design & construction. From then on, he worked in the Research & Development department at Goulds Pumps, Inc. in Seneca Falls N.Y. In 1985 he left the engineering field, and with a partner, started his own successful upholstery & canvas-awning business in the city of Williamsport, Pa. After several particularly brutal Pennsylvania winters, Lou decided that a move farther south was in order. Having visited the Eastern Shore throughout the years (his sister resides in Chestertown), he found that this area offers the abundant water resources that he was accustomed to in his native New York, and it offers much milder winters. In 2002 he made the move to the Eastern Shore & purchased a home just outside of Federalsburg, Caroline county. In 2003 he obtained his real estate license and joined Charles C. Powell, Inc. Realtors at their Federalsburg office. Soon after, he teamed-up with his current partner, Natalie (Nat) B. Moore. The team has since relocated to, and works out of, Powell's Cambridge office. Lou especially enjoys working with newcomers to the Eastern Shore. His own experiences give him an incite as to the special needs newcomers may face in relocating to this area. He is an active member of the Men's Auxilary of V.F.W. Post 5246 in Federalsburg. |
